Lionel Messi headed to the Argentina dressing room after Spain battered them 6-1 in an international friendly on Tuesday.
The Barcelona forward played no part in the 2018 World Cup warm-up match, due to fatigue, but watched his nation from the stands.
Diego Costa opened the scoring for Spain in just the 12th minute before Isco bagged a hat-trick, and Thiago Alcantara and Iago Aspas netted a goal apiece.
Manchester City center-back Nicolas Otamendi did score a consolation goal just before halftime when Spain was leading 2-0. But unfortunately for Argentina, it remained exactly that, a consolation.
Messi was filmed leaving the stands after witnessing the horror show and heading down to Argentina changing room.
Once there he spoke to his team-mates, saying: "We come through this together. United," according to Diario Ole.
A source told the publication that the players responded well to Messi's impromptu pep talk, saying: "What Leo did? No, really good, really good. Honestly, we needed it.
