Victor Moses has revealed the friendly battle fellow Chelsea wing-back Marcos Alonso as the Nigerian admitted he wants to score as many goals as the Spaniard this season.
Alonso, who plays as Chelsea's left wing-back, has netted five Premier League goals this term - including the winner against Southampton recently and one in the 2-0 Boxing Day win over Brighton.
Such has been the 27-year-old's contribution to Chelsea's goals that coach Antonio Conte hailed it a "great achievement" for Alonso because of the fact he plays as a wing-back.
Moses, who plays on the other flank as Chelsea's right wing-back, hasn't been able to score any goals this season, however, in part because of the hamstring injury that kept him out of action for a significant period of time.
Now fully fit and back in the team, Moses admits he wants to try and catch up with Alonso's goalscoring return although he praised the Spaniard for his performances this term.
Speaking to Chelsea's official website, Moses said: "Marcos is banging them in, I missed a few games but that is not an excuse and we have still got a lot of games to go this season, and I will try to hopefully catch Marcos up.
"I will try to do my best and we will see what happens but I am delighted for Marcos, he is doing very well and scoring goals and helping the team as well."
