PHILIPPE COUTINHO has found out Real Madrid’s plan to bring his former Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah to the club, according to shock reports in Spain.
The Barcelona midfielder knows Florentino Perez has his sights set on a huge swap deal for the Egyptian.
Salah has been in stunning form this season and netted four times at the weekend as Liverpool beat Watford 5-0 in the Premier League.
Spanish outlet Don Balon, known for their huge transfer claims, say the Reds could sell Salah if they receive money and Lucas Vazquez in return.
Liverpool are said to be holding out for around £122m plus the Los Blancos forward.
Jurgen Klopp is reported to be a big fan of the 26-year-old and wants him at Anfield.
Real Madrid are expected to overhaul their squad this summer as they have struggled to keep up with the pace in La Liga this season.
Zinedine Zidane’s side are a massive 15 points behind leaders Barcelona.
Salah more than fits the bill for Los Blancos as he has netted an incredible 36 times and provided 12 assists in all competitions for Liverpool this campaign.
And pundit Tony Cascarino believes the Egyptian has even outshone Neymar this year.
He told The Times: “Neymar was signed by Paris St-Germain for almost £200m in the summer.
“If I had that money now I would spend it on Mohamed Salah — I can't think of anyone in world football I would rather buy.
“He is having an extraordinary season, his scoring is on a par with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo and I can't think of many players who have had such an instant impact.
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has been in fine form for Jurgen Klopp this season
“There is so much to enjoy in his game.
“He had Watford defenders turning left and right and ending up on their backsides at Anfield on Saturday; it is magnificent to watch a player with such skill and speed have so much control.”
